District Information Centre today organised a seminar on “J&K Protection of Children from Sexual Violence Act 2018” at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Ramban.The event has been organised to implement the initiative taken up by Director Information and Public Relations, Dr. Sehrish Asgar, for generating awareness among the children regarding this Act.Chief Education Officer, Abdul Hamid Fani, presided over the function while Principal of the host school, Narinder Singh Jamwal, officers and officials of ICPS, media persons and others were the resource persons on the occasion.As many as, 10 students from the host school and Girls High School Ramban participated in the seminar. Shafia Bano, a student of GHS, was adjudged as the best while Uzma Akther of GHS and Neha Butiyal clinched 2nd and 3rd position respectively in the seminar. The students who shared their knowledge and views on the theme of the program   were also awarded with prizes for their participation.CEO, while speaking on the occasion, threw light on the provisions of the Act and informed the importance of Protection of Children from sexual offenses. He told the students to remain vigilant against such crimes.Law Officer, Child Protection Services, Ramban, Advocate Vikram Singh Raju and speakers from ICPS gave a detailed description on the Act educating the gathering about its key aspects.
