Normal life continues to remain disrupted throughout the Kashmir for the 44th consecutive day on Wednesday, amid the closure of markets and public transport continues to remain off the roads. The worst hit sectors are business, transport, education are badly hit.According to wire service Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in an endeavor to ease up the restrictions and bring the situation back on track the state administration efforts of opening the schools up-to the high level didn’t borne any fruit as the parents of these school going children kept their wards at home on apprehensions about their safety and security. Meanwhile, private vehicles could be seen plying at various places throughout the Srinagar city and some roadside vendors were also spotted at various places in Srinagar.The most of the Government offices are open but the employee’s attendance in many offices continues to remain thin because of non-availability of public transport. While the landline telephony services resumed fully in the valley, cellular services and internet services continues to remain gagged since August 5 right after the centers move of revocation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state into two Union Territories (UT’s).The most of the top level and second rung separatist leaders have been taken into preventive custody while as the slapping of PSA under the ‘Public order’ provision on the veteran mainstream leader Dr. Farooq Abdullah, three time Chief Minister of erstwhile J&K State and five time Parliamentarian evoked a condemnation from Congress and left parties stating that “Injustice have been done and it’s the country’s “misfortune” that leaders who fought for its unity are behind bars. ‘ The two former Chief Ministers of the erstwhile state including Omar Abdullah, and Mehbooba Mufti continues to remain under detention or house detention.
