Aryans College of Law, Chandigarh today organized a seminar on “Legal Education in India: Problems & Perspective” in PHD Chamber, Sector-31, A Chandigarh. Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India was the Chief Guest on the occasion. LL.B. and BA-LL.B. students of Aryans College of Law attended the function.Sh. DPS Randhawa, President, Punjab & Haryana HC Bar Association; Dr. Vijay Nagpal, Professor, Department of Laws, Panjab University; Sh. Ashok Mittal, Chairman, Punjab Lawyers Association & President, District Bar Association, Ludhiana; Sh. Manuj Bhardwaj, Advocate, Supreme Court of India and International Lawyer in UK, US and European Union were the Guests of Honour on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. The delegates from Manchester Law School also interacted with the students on differences in legal education between Indian and UK.Sh. Satya Pal Jain said that the legal profession is the most sacred and Noble profession. He guided the students that hard work is the key factor to the success as there are example of N numbers of people who Rose from small families but now serving the nation. 

He further said that attempt should be made to increase the number of judges. Technology should be adopted widely. Internal mechanism to resolve the disputes should be made stronger.DPS Randhawa said that to serve the purpose of legal education, updating in system is the need of the hour upon which Govt. Need to work. He further said that being the largest democracy, India must have the best legal education which would come from the competent professionals, legislators, legal luminaries etc to lead the Nation and the Society.Dr. Vijay Nagpal said that the biggest gap in the legal education system is between the theoretical and practical parts. There is need to mushroom the growth of law institutes. He further added that there's lot of confusion between Bar Council of India (BCI), MHRD and UGC. He added that there's is a need of regular refresher courses for the lawyers and the teachers is required so that they can remain updated.Sh. Ashok Mittal while discussing the problems said that the Indian Institutions are lacking basic amenities including good infrastructure, practicals etc. He further motivated the students to put the sincere efforts on professional system but with the time the dignity of the lawyers is going down.
