Hashim Qureshi, Chairman JKDLP has strongly condemned the violence which occurred today in Srinagar. He said that JKDLP has always denounced violence in all its forms and reiterated that the Kashmir-issue can only be solved in a dignified way by peaceful means and dialogue. He also strongly condemned the cold blooded murder of Altaf Ahmad Wani at Saidpora by CRPF. He added that according to the Provincial President NC, Nasir Aslam Wani, Altaf was a supporter of NC. This unfortunate incident should act as an eye-opener and wake-up call to the ruling National Conference and make them realize that bullets do not distinguish between caste, creed or political affiliation. He added, that bullets only kill human beings and precious lives get lost.

Today a NC worker was killed and during the unrest in 2010 more than 100 children lost their lives. At the end, Kashmir and Kashmiris irrespective of caste, creed and political affiliation are being deprived of peace and prosperity. He demanded that the killers who opened fire on Altaf Ahmad Wani should be brought to book. Hashim Qureshi also demanded the removal of draconian laws like AFSPA and PSA, which have given a free hand to the security forces to use Kashmiris as shooting boards. The JKDLP Chairman expressed his deep sympathies with the family of the bereaved and prayed to Almighty to give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
