A meeting of the Cabinet sub-committee for regularization of land of small-marginal farmers was held here today under the chairmanship of Revenue, Horticulture and Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi. Education Minister Rohit Thakur was also present at the meeting.

The committee was informed that, in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court, a policy framework has been prepared for the regularization of land occupation by small and marginal farmers. After detailed deliberations, the Committee decided that the proposed policy would now be placed before the State Cabinet for consideration and approval.

Following Cabinet approval, the policy will be forwarded to the Government of India for further necessary action. Jagat Singh Negi said that the initiative aims to provide relief to small and marginal farmers by addressing issues related to land occupation in a structured and legally compliant manner, in line with the directions of the Apex Court.

Principal Secretary (Law) Rajeev Bali, Additional Secretary (Revenue) Anil Chauhan and senior officers of the Forest Department were present in the meeting.
