“The Writers and intellectuals are a very significant part of the society for they portray human emotions in varied forms in their literary creations and can be described as the mirror of the society.”These views were expressed here today at the Markfed Bhawan by the Managing Director (MD), Varun Roojam on the occasion of conferring ‘Kamlawati Sahitya Puraskar-2019’ on eminent author and litterateur Mr. Ninder Ghugianvi. Praising Mr. Ninder Ghugianvi, the MD Markfed said that the author contributed over 50 books to the cause of Literature, Art, Music and Culture and is considered a doyen in the literary field. He was speaking on the occasion of the felicitation function organized by Markfed and Samvad Sahitya Manch to honour the writer.In his address on the occasion, Mr. Ninder Ghugianvi said that he has always striven to portray the plight of common man and a horde of issues confronting him in his creations besides highlighting the age old traditions and culture of Punjab.Among others present on the occasion included senior officers of Markfed and President of Samvad Sahitya Manch Mr. Prem Vij, and Secretary Mr. Subhash Bhaskar besides prominent journalist Mr. Tarlochan Singh.
