The Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary here today inaugurated the 1st ‘Soft Skill Training Centre’ where the jobless youth would be trained free of cost for interview, Group Discussion, Communication Skill and Personality Development for employment purposes in the Government as well as private sector.After the inauguration at Room No. 218, Block ‘B’, 2nd Floor in District Employment and Enterpreneurship Bureau, the minister while interacting with the mediapersons said that this is a giant step in preparing the young men and women of Punjab for jobs. The minister also divulged that such centres would be opened throughout Punjab.Mrs. Chaudhary further added that Gurdaspur is a border belt and there were not many avenues for the local men and women for attaining jobs but the Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh has set up District Employment and Entrepreneurship Bureau at Gurdaspur which has resulted in 68 placement/employment camps in Gurdaspur District with around 10000 young men and women being provided with the jobs.The minister also added that various work partners such as MBD would provide training to the youth. 

The candidates would also be facilitated with free internet during the 2 month long training course. The minister further said that the State Government would soon open free coaching centre for IELTS in the District Employment and Entrepreneurship Bureau in order to save people from the fraud travel agents.Mrs. Chaudhary also said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to the prosperous future of the youth of Punjab and would always strive to provide employment avenues to the youth.In his address on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vipul Ujjwal assured the minister that the District Administration would not leave any stone unturned to provide job opportunities to the youth of the district apart from assisting them in setting up their own ventures.Earlier, Mrs. Chaudhary was welcomed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-CEO District Employment and Entrepreneurship Bureau, Mr. Ranbeer Singh Moodhal on behalf of the District Administration.Among others present on the occasion included the Assistant Commissioner cum SDM Dinanagar Mr. Raman Kochhar, DDPO Mr. Lakhwinder Singh Randhawa, District Employment Officer Mr. Prashottam Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary) Mrs. Rakesh Bala, Deputy DEO (Secondary) Mr. Rakesh Gupta, District Guidance Counsellor cum Coordinator Soft Skill Centre Mr. Parminder Singh Saini, BDPO Mr. Gurjit Singh, Media Incharge Mr. Deepak Bhalla, Incharge Smart School Mr. Sulakkhan Singh, Deputy DEO Sports Sarita Sharma, Mr. Nirmal Singh and Chand Thakur.
