Captain Amarinder Singh Reviews Preparations For Progressive Punjab Investors Summit On December 5 & 6

In a bid to attract more investments to the state, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday asked the invest Punjab to invite leading  industrialists for  the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investment Summit (PPIS) 2019, to be held in Mohali on December 5-6.Chairing a high-level meeting of the organising committee to  review the preparedness of this mega event, the Chief Minister emphasised the need to synergise the roles and duties of the Administrative Secretaries heading the 11  committees constituted to make this event a grand success.Captain Amarinder Singh also discussed the broad contours of the technical sessions on Agro and Food  Processing, Information Technology & IT Enabled Services, Industry 4.0, New Mobility Solution, Textile and Garmenting, Startup, Healthcare, Life Sciences & Wellness  and Tourism.The Chief Minister envisioned that the summit would go a long way in ensuring holistic industrial development of the state to propel it into the orbit of high  growth trajectory. He asked Invest Punjab to make optimum use of this healthy platform to project Punjab as the preferred investment destination among the domestic  and global investors.The Chief Minister also directed the ACS Investment Promotion to make elaborate arrangements for one-to-one interaction of the leading  entrepreneurs from the state with the delegates participating in the summit from the country and abroad, for exploring possibilities of technical collaboration as well as  technological transfer of know-how to set up industrial units in different sectors.

Briefing the Chief Minister, ACS Invest Punjab Vini Mahajan said as a build-up to the summit the Invest Punjab team had planned several road shows, conferences and  industry visits to make the investors, industrialists and civil society aware of the various incentives/concession being offered by the State Government to further  strengthen the business ecosystem in Punjab.Notably, the Chief Minister would be presiding over pre-events, including Invest North event at Bangalore from 29th to 30th  August, Ambassador Connect Delhi on September 5 and India Economic Summit on October 3rd and 4th to set the stage for the PPIS-2019.Meanwhile, the CEO Invest  Punjab Rajat Aggarwal, in his brief presentation, apprised the Chief Minister that there would be 10 sessions during the summit, besides Government to Business as well  as Business to Business meetings and exhibitions displaying the products of local industry. He said that leading entrepreneurs, professionals and dignitaries were being  invited for the inaugural address and approximately 3,000 invites would be sent out from the Department of Investment Promotion. Prominent amongst those present at  the meeting were Industries and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora, Additional Chief Secretary Home Satish Chandra, ACS Development Viswajeet Khanna, ACS  Excise and Taxation MP Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Housing and Urban Development Ravneet Kaur, Principal Secretary Finance Anirudh Tewari, Principal  Secretary Health Anurag Aggarwal, Principal Secretary PWD Husan Lal, Principal Secretary to CM Tejveer Singh, Special Principal Secretary to CM Gurkirat Kirpal  Singh, Director Industries and MD PSIEC C. Sibin Special Secretary, Director Information and Public Relations Anindita Mitra and Regional Director CII Ankur Singh  Chauhan.
