District Administration And Ten Top Educational Institutions Join Hand For Imparting Free And Quality Education To Destitute Children

The district administration and ten educational institutions of the district on Friday signed Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) to provide free and quality education to 50 children of the Gandhi Vanita Ashram.The educational institutions including CT Group of Institutions, St Soldier Group of Institutions, MGN Public School, HMV college, KMV college, Government Senior Secondary School Nehru Garden, Government Senior Secondary School for girls, Government Primary School in Adarsh Nagar, DSSD Senior Secondary School Basti Nau and SD Phullarwan Girls Senior Secondary School have inked MOUs with the district administration.Interacting with media persons in the meeting hall of the district administrative complex after signing MOUs, the deputy commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma called it a stepping stone for ensuring the bright future of children of Gandhi Vanita Ashram and appreciated the management of schools and colleges who came forward in this noble cause.

Mr Sharma said that it is our moral duty to make the education accessible to all the children and the district administration took this decision to bring all children of Gandhi Vanita Ashram into the mainstream for which the administration approached the social security department and got permission.He said that the district administration will make sufficient arrangements for the transport facility for the children and ensure their safety.  He envisioned that this would help in uplifting the standard of their lives besides opening new vistas of progress and prosperity for the children.He told that before taking this decision of MOUs, the various teams of administration had visited the Gandhi Vanita Ashram and counselled the children who showed the interest in acquiring education in the schools and colleges. The teams found that these children had unmatchable confidence and their comprehensive development can be ensured if they get ample of opportunities to get education.The deputy commissioner told that decision of sending them in educational institutions outside Ashram will give wings to children’s aspirations and empower them to work hard in their lives by getting a quality education.On the occasion, Additional deputy commissioner (Development) Mr Kulwant Singh, SDM-II Mr Paramvir Singh, DEO Secondary Mr Harinder Pal Singh, SVEEP assistant nodal officer Mr. Surjit Lal and others were present.
