Fulfilling the promise of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government’s Ghar-Ghar Rozgar scheme, Housing & Urban Development Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria today handed over appointed letters to 12 Assistant Town Planners (ATPs) and 27 Planning Officers here at PUDA Bhawan.The Minister said that the recruitment drive was necessary to accelerate the pace of work and bring efficiency in the working of the department. Now, it’s the officers turn to deliver best services to the people and work with utmost honesty.Reiterating the Punjab government’s commitment to provide job opportunities to the youth of the state, Mr. Sarkaria said that planning plays a crucial role in the flawless development of urban areas. With the strengthening of the department, it would reduce the burden of work on the one hand, and also expedite the disposal of works on the other. Ultimately it will be beneficial for the general public approaching the department to avail various services.Welcoming the newly joined officers in the Department, Additional Chief Secretary Ms. Vini Mahajan said that this recruitment would ensure smooth functioning of the Department. Strengthening of the staff will definitely better the delivery of various services being provided to the general public, she added. She assured the minister that they collectively would not leave any stone unturned to provide hassle-free services to the people in transparent manner.
