A meeting of the task force constituted by the Chief Minister, Punjab held under the Chairmanship of Namdhari Satguru Uday Singh Ji in the Circuit House, Ludhiana. In this meeting, the conveyor of this task force Kahan Singh Pannu, IAS, Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, Smt. Kanwalpreet Kaur, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, Sh. Balkar Singh Sandhu Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana and Er. Jaswant Singh Zafar, were present in the meeting. The progress report of installation of all the 3 CETPs was reviewed. The issue regarding pollution of Buddha Nallah from the dairies located at Haibowal, Tajpur Road, and in the other parts of the city, was discussed in detail. To review the permanent alternative of the same, a meeting with the owners of these dairies has been proposed in the coming Sunday. The decision regarding shifting of these dairies to the Village Dadarbaksh or to improve the same at the existing place will be considered in the next meeting. The Senior Executive Engineer of the Drainage Department assured that the preliminary work regarding identification of illegal encroachments along the Buddha Nallah will be completed within one month. Er. Gulshan Rai, Chief Environmental Engineer, PPCB, Ludhiana informed that due to the disposal of dairy effluent in the large quantity affects the quality of water to big extent. Er. Sandeep Behl, SEE, PPCB, Ludhiana, Er. Rajinder Singh, SE, MCL, Ludhiana, Er. Ravinder Garg SEE, MCL, Ludhiana, Er. Paramjeet Singh, EE, PPCB, Ludhiana & Er. Gurbakshish Singh Gill, EE, PPCB, Ludhiana were also present during meeting. Sh. Kahan Singh Pannu, IAS informed that Chief Minister, Punjab has taken the determination to rejuvenate the “Buddha Nallah” into “Buddha Darriya”, so the help of various departments, experts and public will be taken.
