Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Punjab Jatinder Sharma on Monday inaugurated a campaign for planting 550 saplings from Nandanpur village of the district which is dedicated to 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev JiMr. Sharma along with Bist Circle Conservator Mr. Satnam Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Mr. Rajesh Gulati and forest Range officer Jagjiwan Jaiswal planted 550 saplings in the Government Primary School in Nandanpur village of the district.He said that this campaign has been initiated in consonance with the commitment of the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to encourage people to plant more trees for making Punjab clean, green and pollution free by enhancing green cover in the district.He said that saplings include Amaltas, Amla, Arjun, Bahera, Siris, Bohar, Neem, Shisham, Sukhchain and others would be planted in each village of the district.Mr. Sharma said that the campaign would be a real tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.  He said that the Rural Development and Panchayat department has already completed the process of lands for the planting saplings in the state.Urging the people to come forward for making this plantation drive a grand success, Mr. Sharma said that this gigantic work cannot be accomplished without their active support and participation.
