The first edition of much anticipated SPL, a mega T-20 cricket tournament started in 2018 at Sports Stadium Pulwama , concluded on Saturday.The final match was played between Washbugh Warriors Pulwama and Anantnag Spartans.It was the first such tournament played in Pulwama district on the fashioner of Indian Premier League.Batting first after winning the toss Washbugh Warriors made 167 runs for the loss of 5 wickets to in alloted 20 overs.During the first innings Shakeel Ahmad played a superb innings of 58 runs while Suhaib Ahmad chipped 35 runs.Chasing the target Spartans were bundled out on 63 runs with coupe of players making double figures.In the post match presentation the guests present on the occasion were Dr.Imtiyaz associated with Doordarshan Srinagar, Abid Pathan Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association observer , Mansoor Ahmad and many others.Shakeel Ahmad alias Shakeel lefty of Warriors was declared man of the match for his 63 runs from 38 balls and Sheeraz Ahmad Wani was declared Man of the tournament with cheque prize of five thousands rupees.Journalist Mudasir Maqbool has been Facilitated during final match of SPL (saffron Premier league) for his Immense work in the field of Journalism.On the presentation ceremony the winner team Warriors were presented one lakh cash prizes and winning trophy by Dr Imtiyaz and the runner up team were presented with fifty thousand cash prize and trophy.
