District Administration Mansa will be hosting grand sports event Punjab State Games U-25 Women from March 24 to March 27, 2019 wherein 2400 women players and 400 coaches from all 22 districts of Mansa will be participating in match fixtures of 12 disciplines.Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait and SSP Mansa Mr Gulneet Singh Khurana stated this while interacting with the media persons today at the launch of event's posters and track suits. The Deputy Commissioner said that Mansa district administration will play host to one of its kind event being held at such a large scale."Basic aim of this event is to promote women players under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative of the government. The state games are known to be nurseries of national and international players. So I would call upon people of Mansa and nearby areas to participate in this event and be a part of the adrenalin thumping matches," she added.The opening ceremony will be glittering affair studded with cultural events, star nights, march past and professional boxing night.
Singers Kulwinder Billa and The Project Raag live band will enthrall the audience. Besides this the top government functionaries will be attending this event.District Sports officer Mr Harpinder Singh added that match fixtures will be held in 12 disciplines including badminton at Nehru Memorial College, basketball at St Xaviers School and Govt School Mansa Khurd), Boxing Nehru Memorial College, Football (Khalsa School and Gandhi School), handball at Khalsa School, judo at Nehru Memorial College, kabaddi at Nehru Memorial College, Kho Kho at Nehru Memorial College, table tennis at Nehru Memorial College, volleyball at Gandhi School, weight lifting and wrestling at Nehru Memorial College.All the players are being provided accommodation at Mata Sundri Girls College and Arya School Mansa. Besides being provided diet, the district administration will also provide transport facilities for players to the venues.
