Department of Agriculture, Jammu today organized one day training Programme-cum-online Demonstration to sensitize the officers and staff of Sericulture, Horticulture and Agriculture Departments about Micro Irrigation System (MIS) Under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo Jammu. Director Agriculture, H. K. Razdan, highlighted that objective of PMKSY is to achieve convergence of investments in irrigation at the field,   expand cultivable area under assured irrigation and Improve on-farm water use efficiency to reduce wastage through adoption of micro-irrigation and other water saving technologies (More crop per drop). He called upon the participants to learn efficient handling of this online system of micro irrigation (MIS).The training session was conducted by chief resource person, Amit Bhatia, Software Engineer from Proxis India Limited, Lucknow who apprised that MINET is a Micro Irrigation Online System devised to create transparency right from registration of farmer to release of subsidy and better coordination between State Government and Central Agencies (PMKSY and LG Directory).

It was informed that MINET is completely customized system and framed according to the guidelines of the concerned State and will provide solution to the major issues in implementation of MIS/PMKSY like Reporting, Monitoring progress, DBT and Checking the pendency at any level. A healthy interaction was held among the participants on all the aspects of online system of micro irrigation and doubts were cleared on spot by the resource person.Project Executive officer, Sericulture, Javed Ahmad, Deputy Director of Agriculture (Central), Jagmohan Bhat, ASCO (I & P), A. H. Salaria, Incharge PMKSY, Sandeep Dogra, Computer Programmer, Sahil Gandotra, District officers, Sub division Level officers, Zonal officers and field staff of Sericulture/ Horticulture / Agriculture department from all districts of Jammu division attended the training.
