A three days training of Road Management Data Acquisition System (ROMDAS) for collecting data on Roughness, Road Geometry, Surface Condition (Potholes) in respect of PWD roads for AE’s and JE’s under Shimla and Hamirpur Zone today concluded at Shimla.Krishna J. from Data Collection limited, ROMDAS, New Zealand imparted training 30 officers of Public Works department.The training was concluded by Engineer-in-Chief (Project)Er. Ashok Chauhan who thanked ACS (PWD) Manisha Nanda for her initiative for bringing New Technologies for Young Engineers at Zonal levels and requested all Young Engineers to actively participate in such trainings which would be of use for collection of data by use of softwares being developed by State Road Project, HPRIDC Shimla.Chief Engineer (World Bank Project) thanked ACS (PWD) and Senior Officers of department for their kind support in organizing these New technology initiatives in HPPWD. It was also informed that 3 days training for AE’s/JE’s under Mandi and Kangra Zone would be organized from 18 to 20 December in Chief Engineer Mandi Zone Conference Hall.The department has Two ROMDAS Vehicles one at Shimla and other at Mandi and are collecting road condition data for a road length of 35000 Kms.
