The era of opportunities in Punjab is about to take new start as the Multinational Global brands; Companies are ready to invest Rs. 2000 Cr. in state Technical Education. These investments will enhance the employability at par with developed countries. State Government is achieving new heights day by day in its initiative "Ghar-Ghar Rozgar" Scheme. These are the words of Minister Technical Education and Industrial Training Govt. of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi.Minister Channi was Chief Guest at State Level Mega Job Fest Event hosted by I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Jalandhar-Kapurthala. He inaugurate this Mega Job Fest, which was 3rd at state level & including one International Job Fest, It was the 4th big event of State Government with an aim to youth employment under the scheme "Ghar-Ghar Rozgar".In his inaugural address Minister Channi shared that MOU was signed between IKG PTU and TATA Technologies Ltd. to establish “Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) by Tata Technologies. It will establish  at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Main Campus and its constituent campuses at various locations in Punjab. Out of such, one CIIIT will be established as Guru Nanak Dev Ji Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (GND CIIIT) at Village Jabbowal, Sultanpur Lodhi.Minister Channi said that the Total cost of Project is Rs. 739 Crore from which Rs. 318 Cr. will be invested in Kapurthala District in the first phase. 

Minister said that state Government is organizing 87 mega job fests in next ten days at various location of Punjab.On this occasion Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, IKG PTU delivered his welcome address. He shared information that in this job fest a Total no. of 73 companies are participating in two days event and these companies are offering 1950 vacancies to participants. The Final year & Pass out students of Engineering, Management, and Computer Applications & Diploma along with 10th, 12th are eligible to participate in this event.He shared that the brand Companies like Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Just Dial Ltd.,Hotel Radisson, Policy Bazar, Convergys, Max Life Insurance, Bajaj Allianz & IDBI etc are participating in two days activity. It is worth mentioning that with an aim to facilitate maximum youth in term of global employment, University has also signed MoUs with Infosys Campus Connect, Internshala, AIESEC & NIELIT in near past. The aims of the MoUs for Training and Employment Inhancement for youth.VC Prof. (Dr.) Sharma shared information about the Technological initiatives taken by the University like Mobile App Library, Campuses Connectivity, and Transparency in evaluation system as On screen evaluation etc. In the end of programme University Dean R&D Dr Anirudh Pratap Singh delivered Vote of thanks. In the first day of Job Fair MLA Sultanpur Lodhi Navtej Singh Cheema,  IAS Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Special Principal Secretary to Hon'ble Chief Minister Punjab and IAS Mohammed Taib Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner, also visited job fair and interacted with participants. University Dean Dr N.P.Singh, Director Dr. Balkar Singh. Registrar Dr. S.S.Walia, Incharge Vice Chancellor Secretariat Dr Paramjit Singh, Joint Registrar Dr RPS Bedi were also join event in host panel.
