Gurmeet Bedi presents his literary works to Chief Minister

Poet Gurmeet Bedi presented his books to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, here today. The books he presented to the Chief Minister include his story collection 'Sukhe Patton Ka Raag' and 'Kuhaase Mein Ek Chehra' and poetry collection 'Mausam Ka Takaza', 'Khamoshi Pighalti Rahi' besides satire collection 'Isliye Hum Bhi Hanste Hain', 'Naak Ka Sawaal' and 'Khabardaar Jo Vyangya Likha' and a book based on research work on Baijnath.The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of Gurmeet Bedi for writing in different genres and winning many national and international level awards for his writing.Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government was committed for promotion and preservation of the art, literature and culture and various schemes were being implemented to encourage the writers and artistes.Gurmeet Bedi is serving as Deputy Director in Himachal Pradesh Information and Public Relations department and has been conferred with Himachal Sahitya Academy Award and Punjab Sahitya Academy Award.  He is also a recipient of Virsa Award of Canada for his satirical work. A teli-film is also coming up based on his novel 'Indradhanush'. His poetry collection 'Meri Hi Koi Kriti' has been translated in German language.Media Advisor to the CM Rohit Sawal and Director, Information and Public Relations Anupam Kashyap were also present on this occasion.
