Punjab State Minorities Commission Senior Vice Chairman Tehsin Ahmed informed that the burial ground/graveyard for the muslim and christian communities would be coming up on Tibba Road. He informed that this 4-acre site would be divided equally (2-acre each) between the Muslim and Christian communities.Ahmed said this during a meeting with the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana officials at Circuit House, here today.He informed that an amount of Rs 2.84 crore would be spent by the Punjab government for the development of this burial ground/graveyard. Commission member Albert Dua stated that the greenbelt around it would be developed from funds received under the Ludhiana Smart City project.Those who attended today’s meeting included commission Vice Chairman Sanjeev Jain, members Albert Dua, Abdul Shakoor Mangat andAbdul Kayoom Raja, while Mr Surinder Singh Bindra, Mr Vijay Kumar ATP and other officials represented the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana.Punjab State Minorities Commission Senior Vice Chairman Mr Tehsin Ahmed informed that 4 kanal site for burial ground/graveyard has been finalised near village Nurpur, besides the officials have been directed to form a cluster of 5-6 villages and find common place where the burial grounds can be developed.
