Himachal Pradesh Government has appointed Brij Kumar Agarwal, an IAS officer of Himachal cadre (1985 batch) as Chief Secretary to the Government of Himachal Pradesh with immediate effect as per notification issued here today.B.K. Agarwal was holding his duty as Additional Chief Secretary (Home & Vigilance) and was also holding additional charges of the posts of Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Financial Commissioner (Appeals) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh and Resident Commissioner, Government of Himachal Pradesh, Himachal Bhawan, New Delhi.B.K. Agarwal held various positions in the Government of India and Himachal Pradesh government. He served as Commissioner of Tourism, Deputy Commissioner of Una and Kangra, Divisional Commissioner of Kangra, Principal Secretary Food and Civil Supplies, Secretary Information Technology to the Government of Himachal Pradesh.He also served as General Manager of Food Corporation of India in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
