In a befitting tribute to father of nation-Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, the district administration would organize special camps in all the sub divisions of Jalandhar under the Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) to provide citizen centric services to the people at their doorsteps on October 2.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said that under this unique initiative the special camps would be held in all the Sub Divisions of the district in which all the departments of the state government would converge under a single roof. He said that during the camps due focus would be laid on jobs under Ghar Ghar Rojna, Pensions, Atta Dal, Job cards under MNREGA,Health check up under mission TP, Buddy program, Grievances redressal general and more importantly those concerning Revenue and Power Department. Likewise, Mr. Sharma said that Tree plantation, Mutations and other services would also be covered under the camp.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the camps would be genuine and effective to provide a single platform for the solution of all the grievances of the people. He said that for areas falling under Sub Division Jalandhar I camp would be organized at Government Senior Secondary School Jamsher. Likewise, Mr. Sharma said that for Sub Divisional II the venue would be at Gakhal Palace in village Gakhal, for Nakodar Sub Division venue would be Guru Nanak National College (Boys) and for Shahkot it would be Auditorium in Public Senior Secondary School.The Deputy Commissioner said that said that the basic idea was to ensure that the needy people could get the benefits of pro-poor schemes of the government. He further said that the camp aims to achieve the objectives of holistic development of all sections of the society besides ensuring social justice and equality by improving the standard of living and quality of life in rural area. Mr. Sharma further said that this MGSVY scheme was a step forward towards ensuring inclusive development and providing equitable access to benefits of all socio-economic development schemes to the most deserving.
