Several delegations met Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas during his weekly hearing here today to bring into his notice their grievances.Around 250 people including 33 delegations apprised the Advisor about their problems and developmental requirements. They included J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kanak Mandi Traders Association, Hawkers Union, PoJK Displaced Persons, National Federation for Blinds, Motor Parts Dealer Association, besides people hailing from various districts including Kathua, Rajouri, Reasi, Doda, Samba, Kishtwar, Udhampur,The delegations the Advisor about their developmental demands related to road connectivity, water supply, power scenario, healthcare and sanitation, relief, liabilities, JDA issues and others.J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, led by its President B S Salathia discussed various issues including the requirement of library for the newly enrolled young lawyers’, extension of Health Insurance Policy   to the lawyers besides development of sheds into chambers at District Court Complex and providing Bar Room facility to the members of the Association.The delegation included Vice President Sachin Gupta, General Secretary Prem Sadotra, Joint Secretary Himanshu Sharma, Treasurer Chetan Misri and Member Bhanu Singh Slathia.

Vyas, after detailed deliberations with the Bar delegation, assured prompt action on the demands after holding discussion with all concerned departments.The delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, led by Chairman Vikrant Kuthiala put forward the problems/issues being faced by the traders. The delegation called for central package for J&K traders on the pattern of North East region. They also demanded extension of runway and night landing facility at Jammu Airport, flyover from Canal Road, connecting 4th Tawi Bridge.The traders’ delegation also sought tax reimbursement at the earliest. Rakesh Wazir who was also part of the delegation raised various important public issues of Katra town and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.The Advisor gave a patient hearing and assured that the issues will be examined by the concerned departments for appropriate action.Kanak Mandi Traders Association put forth its issues and sought from, appropriate land for development of a wholesale market on the outskirts of Jammu.A deputation of Street Vendors Union requested for identification of pockets in a particular area for the parking their Rehris so that they can run their business without any interruption.The delegation of National Federation for Blinds from Roopnagar projected its demand regarding recognition of school for blinds upto 12th class and financial support from government for specially challenged persons.

A deputation of intern MBBS students from Government Medical College Jammu demanded revision of their stipend, which according to them was last revised in 2004. They said the stipend given to the medical students in J&K is far less as compared to other states. They sought a reasonable hike to enable them to meet the expenses in the current situation. A delegation of POJK displaced persons demanded fast tracking the disbursement of cash relief under the PM’s Package.Various delegations from Gole Gujral put forward their issue seeking possession of JDA land allotted to them. The Advisor directed the VC JDA to visit on spot and allot the possession to the owners of land. Interacting with the deputations and individuals, the Advisor reiterated that the Governor’s administration is for result oriented disposal of the demands projected by the public. He assured that the issues projected by the public delegations will be examined and redressed in a systematic manner. Meanwhile, the Advisor passed on the spot directions for redress of various grievances.  He directed the officers to maintain close liaison with the local population for prompt redress of grievances and service delivery.The Advisor also reviewed the action taken on the issues projected during the previous interaction sessions   to ensure outcome-based disposal of the grievances.
