In a bid to provide pollution free and greener city under Mission Tandarust Punjab, the district administration Bathinda and State Bank of India today flagged off 21 e-rickshaws from the District Administrative Complex.Deputy Commissioner Mr Praneet, ADC (D) Mrs Sakshi Sawhney, commissioner Municipal Corporation Dr Rishi Pal, Chief General Manager SBI Mr Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, DGM Mr Ajmer Sethi, RM Mr Suresh Goyal, AGM mr Rakesh Jindal, AGM Som Nath Goyal, Chief Managers Mr Baljit Singh, Mr Prem Garg and Mr Ishwar Garg, manager Mr Amit Bansal, Deputy managers Mr Rajiv Tinna Mr. Rajesh Ranjan and Mr Vikram Shah flagged off the e-rickshaws today.Speaking to media persons DC Mr Praneet and CGM Mr Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh said that the beneficiaries of e-rickshaws have each been given loan from Rs 1.10 lacs to Rs 1.30 lacs on low interest without any collateral security that allows it to be re-paid in five years under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. 

This has not only enabled the poor earn decent two square meals a day but also helped them be owner of their own workplace-rickshaw. They said that the State Bank of India will be giving more such rickshaws in future. Anyone willing to get such rickshaw can walk into the nearest SBI branch for further details.Lauding the efforts of SBI in partnering with district administration Bathinda for social causes Deputy Commissioner Mr Praneet said that the bank has also been of the Tandarust Punjab event Walkathon that evoked great response from masses.The new mobile ATM van was also flagged off today which has been readied at a cost of Rs 15 lacs. A kind of mini bank, the van offers all banking facilities on wheels including ATM, new account opening, services and information about loans and other banking schemes. This SBI van will provide its services at Bathinda city and cantonment area.
