Lok Sabha member Ravneet Singh Bittu today said that the Punjab government would make efforts to ensure that the teachings of Bhai Ghanaiya Ji get recognition globally. He said this while addressing the gathering on the occasion of state-level function organised by Punjab government as “Manav Seva Diwas” in the memory of Bhai Ghanaiya Ji, at Government College for Girls, here today.While speaking on the occasion, Mr Bittu said that the teachings of Bhai Ghanaiya Ji and his service towards humanity cannot be ignored in Sikh religion. He said that Bhai Ghanaiya Ji served humanity during the time period of three Sikh guru’s, whereas his ancestors served during the time of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh guru. He said that he would ensure that the teachings of Bhai Ghanaiya Ji get global recognition and efforts in this regard would be made through the Punjab government, besides he would also raise this issue in the Lok Sabha.While speaking to mediapersons, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Punjab, Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that today’s youth should adopt the teachings of Bhai Ghanaiya Ji so that discrimination and inequality in society is eradicated. He said that the youth should also take his teachings amongst masses. He said that he would also speak to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in this regard and would also raise this issue in the cabinet meeting. He said that Bhai Ghanaiya Ji was the real creator of Red Cross.The function was also addressed by former Cabinet Minister Mr Malkit Singh Dakha and Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Charity & Peace International Foundation patron Prof Bahadur Singh Sunet. College principal Mrs Sarita Rani Sharma welcomed the gathering on the occasion.During the function, college students Miss Japneet Kaur, Miss Vanshika and Miss Kartika presented poems about Bhai Ghanaiya Ji. District Red Cross Society Secretary Mr Balvir Aeri briefed the audience about the efforts being made by the Red Cross Society and other schemes.Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu also inaugurated a blood donation camp and first aid training workshop in the college premises. During the blood donation camp, 45 units of blood were collected.Prominent among those present on the occasion included MC Ludhiana Deputy Mayor Mrs Sarabjit Kaur Shimlapuri, ADC (Khanna) Mr Ajay Sood, Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Miss Kanu Garg, Mr Jarnail Singh Shimlapuri, Mr Taranjit Singh Nimana, Mr Ranjit Singh Virk, Mr Surinder Singh Bittu, Mr Harsimran Singh Mann, Mr Niranjan Singh, besides several others.
