PWD and IT Minister Vijay Inder Singla today announced that Government of Punjab has sanctioned works amounting to more than Rs 100.00 Crore in connection with 550th Birth Anniversary celebration of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and directed the PWD officers and Engineers to ensure the timely completion of all  these development works besides ensuring the top quality.Reviewing the development works to be taken up by PWD (B&R) department in connection with 550th Birth Anniversary celebration of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to be held next year, Mr. Vijay Inder Singla revealed that the Government of Punjab has sanctioned works amounting to more than Rs 100 Crore such as widening of 10 link roads at the cost of Rs 17.40 Cr, Widening of 4 Plan roads at the cost of Rs 41.96 Cr, special repair of 11 Plan roads at the cost of Rs 37.32 Cr, 3 projects regarding construction of Bridges and Culverts at the cost of Rs 7.70 Cr, and Construction of New Rest House at Sultanpur Lodhi at the cost of Rs 5 Cr.In this meeting with the concerned Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer and other Engineers of the department held at Kapurthala, PWD Minister discussed the action plan for all these  works were in detail. He directed PWD officers and Engineers to ensure that all these works should be in time a time frame manner before the start of celebrations. He also emphasized that no laxity in the quality of work would be tolerated.
