Declaring three players-Swaran, Sukhmeet and Manpreet as three pearls of Mansa for achieving the incredible feat of two gold and a bronze medal in the 18th Asian Games, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait today honoured the players and their families at Bhachat Bhawan.The players were first received by the officials of district administration and Sports Department at Railway Station from where they were taken in open police jeep to Bachat Bhawan amidst huge applause and cheers by hundreds of area residents.Youngsters played to the tunes of different songs and the cavalcade was also well received by shopkeepers and students of schools and colleges situated en route to DC office.The motorcade of players also passed through all the main roads of the city before it reached Bachat Bhawan where DC Apneet Riyait and SSP Mandheer Singh extended a warm welcome to the players and their families.

Bouquets, mementos and shawls were presented to the parents and other family members of all the three players by the team of district administration after which they were taken to the roundabout at Mansa Kenchiyan roundabout which is dedicated to these players.The players were accompanied by police contingents, officers of the district administration, large number of cars and motorcycles upto the Swaran's village-Dalelwala, Sukhmeet's village-Kishangarh Farvahi and Manpreet's village-Kasimpur Cheena.While Swaran and Sukhmeet got gold medals in Rowing competitions, Manpreet got bronze in Kabaddi championship in the Asian Games held at Indonesia's capital-Jakarta recently.Among others who were present during the occasion included Mansa MLA Najar Manshahia, ADC (g) Rajesh Tripathi, ADC (d) Gurmeet Sidhu, SDM (Mansa) Abhijeet Kaplish, SDM (Sardulgarh) Latif Ahmed, SDM (Budhlada) Harjeet Sandhu, SP (H) Major Singh and senior Congress leader Ajitinder Moffar and Bikram Moffar.
