Newly appointed Divisional Commissioner of Jalandhar Mr. B Purushartha today said that he would accord top priority towards the implementation of the pro-people and development oriented policies of state government to benefit the masses.Interacting with the media persons after assuming the charge of his office here today, the Divisional Commissioner said that all out efforts would be made to provide clean, transparent and responsive administration to the people. He said that no stone would be left unturned to ensure the progress of the region and prosperity of its residents. Mr. Purushartha, a 2002 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service, said that a transparent mechanism would be evolved for further streamlining the administrative functioning in the Division.The Divisional Commissioner further said that he would carry forward the welfare programs and policies of the Punjab government to safeguard the interests of the weaker and underprivileged sections of the society. Mr. Purushartha said that said he would also ensure that an effective and transparent mechanism was put in place for benefiting the people of the region in a big way.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma welcomed the Divisional Commissioner in his office.Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner was given Guard of Honor at the local circuit house by a contingent of Punjab Police.
