Punjab govt. gives financial aid for the marriage of girls under Ashirwad Scheme and 1986 beneficiaries of district Moga have been distributed Rs. 3 Crore 47 lac 52 thousands under this scheme.Giving this information the Deputy Commissioner Dilraj Singh IAS stated that from Dec. 2016 to June 2017, 1159 beneficiaries were given financial assistance Rs. 01 crore 73 lac 85 thousands at Rs. 15,000 per person. Similarly, from July 2017 to Dec. 2017,   827 beneficiaries were given benefit at Rs. 21,000 per beneficiary and total Rs. 01 crore 73 lac 67 thousands.Dilraj Singh stated that under the Aashirwad scheme, Rs. 21,000 is being given to each beneficiary and the same is transferred online directly into the accounts of beneficiaries. He directed the officers concerned to ensure that the schemes run for welfare of people reaches them.District Welfare officer Harpal Singh Gill stated that under Aashirwad Scheme, the application for taking benefit should be given before the wedding date of girl, so that the financial aid is received well in time before wedding. Those are not able to get help before wedding, can do so within 30 days of getting married. He said that for taking financial aid, the girl should be above 18 years of age, her parents/ guardians should be domicile of Punjab and annual income of family should be less than Rs. 32,790. He said that only two daughters of a family are given this help.
