DDC Ganderbal reviews progress of ongoing road projects

The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla today reviewed the pace and progress of the ongoing road projects in the District during a meeting.The meeting took a comprehensive review of the progress of land acquisition on Pandach-Beehama Road, Gangerhama to Wayil road under NABARD and Sumbal Balla Road under CRF.The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ganderbal, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Ganderbal, Tehsildar Ganderbal/Lar, Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal, Assistant Executive Engineers and other concerned officers.While reviewing the land acquisition process on Pandach-Beehama Road, the DDC asked the concerned officers to remove the illegal structures and stop further construction of structures in and around the demarcation area and clear the bottlenecks, if any.DDC directed R&B engineers to demolish those structures immediately on Pandach-Beehama Road whose owners have received compensation.The meeting was informed that the first phase of   Gangerhama to Wayil road under NABARD is of 3 km and the work is already started.While reviewing the pace of work on Sumbal Balla Road, the DDC asked the officials to follow the safety measures while executing the earth cutting and other construction works as the topography of land in the area is hilly.He stressed upon the concerned authorities to speed up the demolishing process of illegal structures and clear the pending cases immediately so that the widening work of the district roads takes place as earliest for the benefit of commuters besides it will provide smooth traffic management in district Ganderbal.
