To mark International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a group of inmates of Ludhiana Central jails performed a play against the drug menace and made aware others about ill-effects of drugs. SDM East Amarjeet Singh Bains administrated the pledge to the inmates against the drug abuse and exhorted them to become good human being so that when they come out of the prison, can play a constructive role in the society. He said the play was an attempt to spread awareness amongst the other inmates regarding menace of drugs.Jail Superintendent Shamsher Singh Boparai also addressed and said that a drug de-addiction centre is being run successfully in the jail premises where the four doctors from the health department are giving their services. On the occasion, the officials of health department were also present.
