Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma today visited various areas of Jammu city and its peripheries to take stock of development works initiated by Jammu Municipal Corporation and Power Development Department.Divisional Commissioner along with Municipal Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Chief Engineer PDD Ashwini Gupta, Joint Director Information, Naresh Kumar and other senior officers of various departments visited Qasim Nagar and Kacha Talab areas to inspect the construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission.The Divisional Commissioner was informed that nearly 200 toilets have been approved for construction in these areas. He directed the Municipal Commissioner to gear up men and machinery to complete the works within the stipulated time.Taking cognizance over the poor sanitation in Kacha Talab area, the Divisional Commissioner suspended the Sanitary Supervisor Sonu Gill on the spot. 

He said that non-seriousness and indolent attitude in work will not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against the erring employee.Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner convened a review meeting with the senior officials of Power Development Department to assess the present scenario of power supply in Jammu.During the meeting, he directed for daily reportage of activities to ensure accountability and make the employees more efficient so that they can perform their duties in better way.He also visited Gladni Grid Station and reviewed its functioning besides inspected  Central Transformer Repair Workshop to check the availability of transformers. He directed the concerned officials to conduct field verification of poles available for street lights in Gandhi Nagar, Channi and Sainik Colony areas.
