From January 2018 to May 2018, 496 drug addicts have opted for treatment from OPD, while 111 drug addicts got treatment by getting indoor patient. After treatment, they returned to the mainstream, they also got a new life. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir IAS.He said that under the 'Mission Tandarust Punjab', people suffering from drug addiction are being encouraged for treatment, counseling in these centers so that they can start a new life after treatment. He also informed that after leaving drug de-addiction center, 13 people have been rehabilitated, where various activities are undertaken to bring them in the mainstream so that they do not get into the swamp of drugs again.The Deputy Commissioner said that drugs are the most serious topic in today's era, for which we all should make efforts to curbthis menace.He said that under the mission "Tandarust Punjab", Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh is working to improve the health of the people of the entire state, to eradicate drugs, to conserve the environment, and to make people aware of it in a big way by the government departments and with these arrangements, the Punjab will become healthy and prosperous.He said that if a person falls prey to wrongful drug addiction, it is our moral responsibility is to bring him to the Drug de-addiction center at Ferozepur, where the expert doctor will treat the drug addicts.He also said incharge of drug de-addiction center, Dr. Rachana Mittal that the Punjab Government has started a DAPO campaign to eradicate drugs, so the people who have left the drug, should come forward to help as DAPO volunteers as they they can explain other people more clearly about the effects of drugs.Dr. Rachana Mittal, Incharge said, the Drug De-addiction Center at Mukhu Gate was opened in Firozpur city for the complete eradication of the drug addiction by the state government. The Oat Clinic is very successful. He said that till May 2018, 134 people have taken the benefit of the OAT Clinic. He said that due to the counseling of drug addicts at the OAT Clinic, the drug addicts are told about the adverse effects of drugs so that they should stay away from the leg of drugs.
