MP Warns Officials In Case Of Unnecessary Delay In Re-Verification

Warning the officials of action against in case of any inordinate delay in the re-verification process of the applicants under various pension schemes, Member of Parliament (MP) Ravneet Singh Bittu said that any sort of inconvenience to the eligible applicants will not be tolerated at any cost.MP, who was holding a meeting with the concern officials in Bachat Bhawan on Friday to discuss the pending pension applications, said that state government is committed to providing benefits to all eligible elderly, widow, orphans, dependent children and specially-abled people under various pension schemes.Bittu told the officials to share the details of all applications which are pending due to re-verification with the councillors as they can help in completing the verification process at the earliest.They are elected representatives and they remain in touch with the people, MP added.He also asked the officials to email the ward-wise details of all applications to the councillors and advised them to fix a day when councillors can come to discuss the applications and status in their offices. 

The district social security officer Inderpreet Kaur clarified in the meeting that if the applicant gets sanction letter, he or she will get the pension amount only after completion of all formalities. She further explained that the pensions have been stopped temporary till the re-verification completes.Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Dr. Shena Aggarwal suggested a regular joint meeting of the councillors and Child Development Program Officers concern for the speed up the entire process.The councillors also demanded that whole process should be made simple so that citizens could not face any kind of difficulties.On the occasion, senior deputy mayor Sham Sundar Malhotra, deputy mayor Sarbjeet Kaur, Several MC Councillors, District Program Officer Rupinder Kaur, CDPOs from 16 blocks and senior Congress leader Kamaljit Singh Karwal and others were present.
