Administration Takes 120 Students To Mattewara Forests And Tiger Safari

To enhance their knowledge regarding conservation of biodiversity, the district administration on Wednesday took 120 students who were selected during week's long competitions held in 30 government schools, to Mattewara forests and Tiger Safari.A total of 2400 had appeared in various completions including speech, essay writing, quiz, declamation, and painting and other held on various issues concerning biodiversity.Additional deputy commissioner (D) Shena Aggarwal said that the students were given practical information during the tours in Mattewara forests, Botanical Garden and Tiger Safari besides special lectures were given by district science supervisor Balwinder Kaur and Lecturer Gurdarshan Kaur. ADC disclosed that three started from Shaheed E Azam Sukhdev Thapar Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Bharat Nagar at 7 am.Aggarwal told that the district level biodiversity management committee has been reconstituted and it will continue to hold such events for the promotion of biodiversity in the district.
