District Development Commissioner, S Rajinder Singh Tara  alongwith a team of NITI  Aayog from Delhi, today visited various villages in Samba to assess the preparedness and impact of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in  the identified 13 villages of the district.Pertinent to mention that 13 villages of district shall be covered under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan aimed at promoting  social harmony, spread awareness about pro-poor initiatives of government, reach out to poor households to enroll them as also to obtain their feedback on various welfare programmes. As a special endeavour during the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, saturation of eligible households/persons would be made under seven flagship pro-poor programmes  in identified villages, namely, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya, Ujala scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mission Indradhanush. The DDC also interacted with various beneficiaries and listened to their grievances. Directions were issued to concerned Tehsildars to hold camps in all the 13 villages and issue caste/income certificate without delay so that the people can be benefited by the  welfare schemes launched by GoI

While interacting with the concerned officers  the DDC asked them to stress on better synergy between the concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of the abhiyan and full coverage of beneficiaries under the seven identified schemes. He further asked all present to ensure maximum outreach and sensitisation of the people regarding these schemes and focus on tracing  the unidentified beneficiaries to ensure cent percent coverage of target  beneficiaries .Taking a serious view of unauthorised absence of a MPW Sohan Singh of Block Rajpura that is hampering the implementation of Prime Minister's prestigious Swachh Bharat Mission, DDC  issued  directions  to ACD  Aijaz Qaiser to immediately place him under suspension and attach him with the office of DDC.Additional Deputy Commissioner Tilak Raj Shastri, Programme Officer ICDS  Jyoti Salathia, Assistant Commissioner Development Samba Aijaz Qaiser, District Panchayat Officer, District social Welfare Officer, Executive Engineer PDD, CMO,CEO, CAO, Manager Lead bank, and other concerned officers accompanied them during the visit.
