Another innovation by students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh brings a ray of hope to the people suffering from cardiac disorders.  The 4 JK Engineering students of Aryans with the help of Nursing team of Aryans have developed a “Life Saving Glove” that will help in providing timely assistance to the people prone to the risk of cardiac disease.Aryans students launched this project in a Press Conference held today in Hotel Daawat, Mohali. During the launch of the “Life Saving Glove”, Dr H.K. Bali, Director, Cardiology, Fortis Hospital, Mohali was the Chief Guest and the launch was presided over by Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges.

Dr Bali while appreciating the Project innovated by the students said that this “Glove” will prove to be a boon for the cardiac patients as this project can save many lives. He further said that this innovation which is the outcome of collaboration of Medical Science with Technology will reduce the number of cardiac patients dying each year due to lack of timely medical assistance being provided to them. Dr. Anshu Kataria while congratulating the students said that this “Aryans Life Saving Glove” to be worn by the patient possesses a technology that will check the pulse rate of the patient at frequent intervals. Any exceptional change in pulse rate caused due to cardiac disease which is beyond the standard limit will be detected by the “glove” and a call and an sms will be sent to Doctor and relative of patient automatically. This will help in providing immediate help to the patient.

Dr. Kataria added that “Aryans Life Saving Glove” is made by four JK Aryans students viz. Showkat, Danish, Ishfaq and Adil (all B.tech ECE students) under the mentorship of their teachers. The Aryans Nursing team members including Rashpal Kaur, Alisha Khanna and Sonia (all from Punjab) also worked on this project. The medical advice was also taken to give final touches to the “Glove” and to ensure its working. Dr. Kataria further added that this “Aryans Life Saving Glove” is the second innovation by Aryans students the first being the “Aryans App”. Both these innovations have added to the welfare of society.

Elaborating more, Showkat said that this project works both on the battery and power supply. It also consists of a SIM card which works under the GSM (Global System for Mobile) module.

The contact number of doctor and relative of patient are recorded in micro controller and can be changed by simple modification in the programme. Danish added that the project also has an LCD which displays the heartbeat of the patient in terms of numerals. Ishfaq told that the total cost incurred on the project was INR 25,000 and it took around 35-40 days for the completion of this project. Adil added that currently the system is wired but we are planning to make it wireless. Dr. Kataria congratulated the students for their joint project and also sanctioned a sum of INR 1 lac to the students to further promote the project and to make it wireless.Adding information Dr. Bali also stated that roughly 3 lac people die annually due to lack of timely medical assistance being provided to them after the heart stroke. This innovation would reduce the mortality rate and increase the life expectancy of the people by providing timely assistance to the patients.
