Martyr memorials will be constructed in every district of the state to salute the contributions of Martyrs who laid down their lives while safeguarding interests of the nation. The Chief Minister alongwith his cabinet colleagues gave a brick (Eint) for this purpose to Shri Sanjeev Rana, Convener of the campaign at Shimla.Paying tributes to the Martyrs, the Chief Minister said that peace and progress of a nation was possible only when the boundaries of the country were secured at the hands of brave soldiers of the nation.He said the history is replete with sacrifices of brave soldiers from 'Devbhoomi' Himachal Pradesh, who sacrificed their lives to raise the honour of the country. He said the government will support the campaign and every help will be provided for this noble cause.Convener of the campaign Shri Sanjeev Rana said that objective of construction of Martyrs' memorials was to aware the coming generations of sacrifices made by these brave persons. He said first Martyr memorial in Himachal Pradesh will be constructed at Bilaspur with people involvement.Contribution for the memorial in the form of one brick and construction material will be accepted. No cash will be taken for this campaign. Volunteers will go house to house to connect with common man for the campaign.Shri Rana said two martyr memorial have been constructed in Haryana with active participation of local people. He said those who want to associate themselves with the campaign, can contact 98151-98364.Forest Minister Shri Gobind Singh Thakur said that martyr memorials will be constructed and renovated under this campaign in the state with the cooperation of people.All the members of the cabinet contributed one brick each for the campaign.
