Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan dedicated to the public various roads, culverts and paths constructed by the Department of Rural Development Department under various schemes including MGNREGS in Reasi District.The Minister was accompanied by Minster of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda, DC Reasi Reasi Paarsanna Ramaswamy, SP Reasi, ACD Reasi, SDM, BDOs and other senior officers of the district.He inaugurated more than a dozen tiled roads, culverts and paths at Thanda Pani , Moori, Mani  Talai, Bhangal,  Kotli , Simbal Chdwa.The roads have been constructed under MGNREGS and generated more than 10 thousand Person Days of work for the unemployed and unskilled youths of the area besides creation of durable assets in the district.Three lanes at Thanda pani , Moori in Panthal block and Gref compound to Khad High School Kotli have been constructed at the cost of Rs 5 lakh each, road at Mani Talai and Culvert on Old road at Panchayat Manj Taki at the cost of Rs 10 lakh, Bus Stand to Mani Tali lane at Rs 9.90 lakh, Main road to Bhangal  in Aghar Jito Panchayat at Rs 6 lakh, lane at Bhaga Panchayat at 4 lakh and a communication link to bowli at Simbal Chadwa at the cost of Rs 6.39 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion minister said the government is implementing the centrally sponsored scheme in letter and sprit on ground there by providing employment to the unemployed and unskilled people besides creating durable assets in the villages. He said to construct these assets, government was able to generate more than 10 thousand Man days besides mitigating the problems of the people by constructing good roads, paths and culverts.He said the works done by Rural Development Department will ultimately diminish the Urban-Rural divide as the infrastructure is being developed in the villages and facilities being provided at par with the urban areas.The Minister also visited the proposed site for the construction of court complex in Reasi. The minister interacted with the officers and urged them to complete the documentation process and pre-execution formalities at earliest so that work can be started at earliest.Earlier Ajay Nanda who was accompanying the minister to Reasi said the government under the stewardship of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, is relentlessly focusing on strengthening of rural economy as engine of growth. The government is uplifting rural poor through a number of key initiatives related to rural housing & infrastructure, farm income, job creation and entrepreneurship promotion, he added.He said for the first time durable assets are being created under MGNREGS and that too in a time bound manner. He said the works done under the scheme in vast were never visible on ground but now those works are being taken up under the scheme that are beneficial for the common masses and that a revolutionary change has been witnessed with regard to the development of rural areas.
