Remuneration of degree, diploma holders working in Govt Polytechnics enhanced : Priya Sethi

Minister of State for Technical Education Priya Sethi today informed that the government has enhanced the remuneration of persons engaged on academic arrangement basis in various Government Polytechnics across the state.Replying to a joint question of Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Saif-ud-Din Bhat and Surinder Mohan Ambardar, the Minister informed the House that 202 persons have been engaged through academic arrangements in Government Polytechnics against the vacant posts.  Giving details, the Minister informed that the Finance Department has approved the enhancement of remuneration of these academic arrangements from Rs 7000 to Rs 9000 for degree holders (Lecturers); from Rs 6500 to Rs 8500 for diploma holders (Demonstrators); from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,500 for degree holders (Vocational Instructors) and from Rs 5,500 to Rs 7,000 for diploma holders (Vocational Instructors).She further informed that the total number of posts required to run teaching courses in 24 Govt Polytechnics across the state are 654 and the number of created posts for the purpose are 401. Out of 401 created posts, 293 are lying vacant and 202 academic arrangements have been made against these posts, she added.She said that these incumbents are given one day break after every spell of sixty days and also avail two months vacation observed in the Polytechnics.
