Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday honoured six state police officers with the Chief Minister’s Police Medals in recognition of their outstanding performance and discharge of duty utmost devotion and commitment.On the occasion of the 69th Republic Day, the Chief Minister presented police medals to SSP Khanna Navjot Singh Mahal, SSP Batala Opinderjit Singh Ghuman, Commandant PRTC Jahankhelan Bhupinder Singh, DSP Sub-Division Nabha Chand Singh, Inspector Inderdeep Singh State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar and Sub-Inspector Balwinder Singh, Election Cell, Chandigarh. ASI (Local Rank) Surjit Singh and Constable Gurdas Singh were awarded the Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padaks.The 67 eminent personalities from different walks of life were rewarded by the Chief Minister with a memento and a certificate each, for outstanding contribution in their respective fields. 

Among these were six farmers, namely Birdalwinder Singh, Darshan Singh, Mandeep Singh, Avtar Singh, Gurnam Singh and Surinder Singh Panjola, who were honoured for abandoning the practice of stubble burning. Besides, four progressive farmers - Hardeep Singh, Bharpur Singh, Pardeep Singh and Bhupinder Singh Sandha - were honoured for their notable contribution to the promotion of crop diversification.Among other rewardees were renowned physicist and academician Dr. Vidwan Singh Soni, Archery coach Jeevanjot Singh Teja, Cyclist Naman Kapil, Archers Amanpreet Kaur and Vinayak Verma, Shooter Asees Chhina, Fencing player Ananya and Horse rider Jashanjeet Singh Cheema, besides DSP (Investigation) Patiala Sukhminder Singh Chauhan.
