Chief Minister  Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over a review meeting with the Officers of various Departments at Bilaspur today said that all-out efforts would be made to redress the grievances of Bhakra Dam oustees. Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur apprised the Chief Minister the issues of the oustees and added that  245 landless people were required to be rehabilitated.Chief Minister while reviewing progress of  Kirtpur-Nerchawk four-lane project, also discussed  compensation issues to the affected families. He was apprised that 97 percent families had been given compensation.Chief Minister was apprised that 14 projects were being implemented under NABARD and the work on two projects was pending half-way. The Chief Minister also get information on irrigation schemes. He asked officers to speed up pace of work in the above projects as well as roads being constructed under PMGSY.Chief Minister was also apprised that the survey of first phase of 53 kilometer Bhanupalli-Barmana(Beri) Railway Line was near completion. Chief Minister expressed his concern on scarcity of Doctors for which he gave assurance that vacant posts would soon be filled up in the health department. 

He asked health department to undertake awareness campaign on water borne diseases, tuberculosis and scrub typhus by holding awareness camps in remote and far-flung areas of the State.Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that administration good governance, maintenance of law and order is priority of the present government and issued necessary directions in this behalf. He asked the police to take effective and stern steps to check influx of drugs and intoxicants anywhere in the State as it was spoiling  future of younger generation.Chief Minister said “we mean work” and appealed for work “out of the box”. He said officials would be rewarded for extra ordinary contributions. He said the priority of the present government was to ensure transparent and clean administration besides improving law and order which should be best in the country. He asked the officers to prepare project reports of developmental schemes and the government would get these sanctioned from the Central Government.Chief Minister said “service of people was our moto and we expect for your cooperation and new initiatives”. We have to work together for betterment of the State, he added.MLAs Shri Subhash Thakur, Shri J.R. Katwal and Shri Rajinder Garg were also present.
