The members of All J&K Saakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) Employees Forum, engaged under centrally sponsored Literacy Mission programme in the School Education Department held protest demonstration here on Monday.A large number of SBM employees including females, assembled here in Press Enclave and started protest demonstration.  Under the leadership of Ishfaq Ahmed Shah, president of the Forum, protesters shouted slogans in support of their demands. These agitating employees were demanding their regularization and release of their wages.  They said that about 7000 youth were engaged under SBM as district, block and Panchayat coordinators across the State under the scheme  but they are denied their wages. They were imparting education to the elderly people and enhancing literacy rate in the State.hey further claimed that their services are being utilized for examination duty, academic support, elections and other surveys etc.  The Adult Education is the national concern and these people should be provided justice.  The protesters told news agency CNS that there is no clear job policy for them. “Governmnet made a road map for daily rated workers but ignored us completely,” they said. The protesters also staged protest inside DDC office Srinagar. Deputy Commissioner Srinagar assured them that he will take up their matter with higher-ups. (CNS)
