Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today visited Budgam to get the status of construction work of 'soil testing laboratory' here.he lab is getting constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lakhs. During the visit the concerned officers of the executing agencies informed the Director that more than 50 percent of the construction work on the laboratory has been completed, adding it would be handed over to the department very soon.Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture said that construction of the Laboratory will meet the long pending demand of farmers of the district and its operation will provide the soil testing facilities to the farmers of the entire district. He exhorted upon the executing agencies to complete the work as per given deadline and assured that no laxity would be tolerated over quality control of different works. He further directed the concerned to redouble their efforts to complete work on all sections of the laboratory within a stipulated timeframe.
