Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has asked the Custodian Department to undertake mapping of its assets through scientific means including Geo tagging to protect these on a long-term basis.Chairing a review meeting of the Department here today, the Chief Minister regretted that the assets of the Department have got encroached in the past and directed that scientific methods be adopted to protect these for future.Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Abdul Rehman Veeri was also present in the meeting.Mehbooba Mufti advised the Department to priorities raising of social properties like Community Halls, Marriage Halls, public utilities etc which can benefit a large section of society. She specifically directed construction of a Community Hall at Samba on priority. The demand for construction of a Community hall was made by people during a Public Outreach programme of the Chief Minister recently at Samba.Reviewing at length the performance of the Department, the Chief Minister directed constitution of a committee of officers headed by Chief Secretary, B. B. Vyas to look into the claims and counter claims of rent on the land and other assets of the Department. She also directed the Department to come up with detailed project reports of the works it intends to undertake.  Chief Secretary, B. B. Vyas; Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Sandeep Nayak; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal; Principal Secretary, Finance, Navin Choudhary; Secretary, Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Shahid Inayatullah; Custodian General, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat and other officers were also present in the meeting.
