The Education Department, Punjab has invited the 668 newly promoted cadre teachers for station choice on November 7. These teachers will be given merit-wise favorite stations. This was disclosed by Education Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary in a press communiqué released here today.The Education Minister said that the department had recently promoted 668 master cadre teachers from JBT/ETT. The appointment letters were given to all 668 teachers. Out of these, 547 were Science, 49 Mathematics, 64 DPE, 3 Agriculture and 5 Sanskrit teachers. She said that all promoted teachers have now been called on November 7 at Punjab School Education Board, Mohali for station allotment.She further said that all the teachers would be called according to merit. 

The teachers will select one station of their choice  from the stations displayed on the board.She also said that preference would be given to the handicapped teachers and parents of the mentally retarded and special children.Mrs. Chaudhary said that the education department has created a special policy for speeding up the progress of the promotion cases. It has been decided to hold a meeting of the departmental promotion committee (DPC) twice in a year. This decision will end the stagnation in promotions. Besides, as per the other many teacher friendly decisions taken, the powers regarding 4-9-14 cases of teachers and the confirmation letter of newly appointed teachers have also been given to the school heads.
