Swaran Salaria’s victory in Gurdaspur parliamentary bypoll will be a real tribute to Late Vinod Khanna. This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Party’s national sangathan mahamantri Ramlal. He was addressing the district level booth workers conference here today.Ramlal said, “We should proudly go amongst the masses and seek their support because during the past three years our government has undertaken number of developmental schemes instead of indulging in scams. Scams were rampant during the Congress-led UPA rule and it had become synonymous with corruption”.Encouraging the booth level workers, Ramlal said that bearing ‘booth jeeta, chunav jeeta’(You win the booth, you win the election) in mind they must keep the tempo going. “We will have to ensure that we perform better in booths where we lagged behind during the previous elections and even better where we did well. During these remaining three days not only we have to increase our reach amongst the masses, but also publicize that we are winning in the whole constituency”.He exhorted the workers to take the welfare schemes started by PM Modi government to the people. “Tell the voters that the Congress always neglected development while the BJP started working in the interest of the nation right from the onset. We will win this election only on the sheer hard work of party workers”, he said.

Addressing the workers, Union Minister Rajyawardhan Singh Rahore said that Late Vinod Khanna was a hero in real life too. “It was because of the morals and values of the BJP that despite being a four-time MP, he had a clean image. He was the true solider of the BJP”, he said.Terming the BJP workers present as true soldiers of the nation, Rathore said, “You might not be wearing an army uniform but you are the true soldier of this country and this is what separates the BJP workers from that of the Congress. BJP workers always work in the interest of the nation while Congress leaders give preference to their own interests”.Addressing the workers, Punjab BJP president Vijay Samlpa said that the victory of SAD-BJP candidate is becoming conclusive day by day and the Congress is perturbed by it. Consequently, they are not only using pressure tactics against SAD-BJP workers but are also trying to lure them, he said.Warning government officials, Sampla said that they desist from becoming Congress agents. He said, “Elections come and go, and if you don’t stop intimidating our workers then we do know how to teach a lesson”.Motivating the workers, Sampla said they stretch to their limits in the remaining three days and ensure Salaria’s victory. “You need not fear anybody, the BJP and SAD leadership is with you”, he said.

Meanwhile, Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency incharge and former BJP state president Ashwini Sharma said that the last phase of the elections has started and while Salaria’s victory is inevitable, the workers have to ensure that they leave no stone unturned in the remaining three days.  Senior BJP leader and famous Sufi singer Hansraj Hans also addressed the workers and said that PM Modi has transformed India into a global force. SAD-BJP candidate Swaran Salaria meanwhile appreciated the demonitisation drive of the Modi government. He said that PM Modi has stopped the nation to beg in front of others by taking such a step.  “Whether I win or I lose, I will always be standing with you people”, Salaria said to the workers. He also thanked the SAD-BJP leadership for entrusting faith in him.BJP’s Punjab affairs incharge Prabhat Jha, state sangathan mahamantri Dinesh Kumar, Kavita Khanna, former ministers- Manoranjan Kalia,  Tikshan Sood, Master Mohan Lal, Rajinder Bhandari; state vice-presidents- Harjit Singh Grewal, Anil Sarin; state general secretaries- Manjit Singh Rai, Jeevan Gupta; state secretary Vineet Joshi; Mayor Anil Vasudeva, Abohar MLA Arun Narang, Sujanpur MLA Dinesh Babbu and former Bhoa MLA Seema Devi were also present on the occasion.
