District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the Swachta Hi Sewa programme in the district.The meeting was attended by officers of district administration, members of civil society, representatives of traders federations, transporters and members of Auqaf committiees.The DDC Kupwara impressed upon all the stakeholders to ensure maintenance of cleanliness at bus and stands, shops, shrines, roads, lanes and drains, hospitals and masjids.He also appealed to the prominent citizens, social workers, market associations, transport unions, Auqaf committees and NGOs to come forward and join hands in this noble endeavor of creating a clean and green environment in the district.The DDC sought and took note of suggestions offered by presidents of traders, transporters and civil society for keeping the district neat and clean. He exhorted upon all the stake holders to extend their support to the concerned departments.During the meeting, the DDC also impressed upon the officers of the District Administration to conduct a mass run programme for awareness of the general public.
