Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting of Collectors to review the progress of land acquisition process for different developmental projects undertaken in the district.While reviewing the progress, DC passed instructions to the officers to take due care of existing  public utilities while executing development works so that public shall not be made to unduly suffer. He said the work of utility shifting shall be done in advance for timely completion of projects. He also stressed for ensuring completion of work within stipulated time and without compromising the quality norms.The DC also reviewed the Action Taken Reports of different development projects viz land compensation for national highway, industries and other major development projects.While laying stress on pacing up the disbursement of compensation to the displaced people, the DC called for holding village wise camps to avoid undue delay. “Every endeavor shall be made to ensure the disbursement of compensation through DBT mode”, the DC directed.He also impressed upon the revenue officers to follow directions of the court in the cases where matter is sub-judice and follow up the case proceedings.The DC also called upon the collectors to call a meeting with PMSGY department for joint survey while identifying newly sanctioned PMGSY roads.The meeting was attended by ADC Basohli Sanjay Gupta, SDM Hiranagar, XEN PMGSY and other officers.
