Police have arrested a con impersonating as an Army doctor and a NASA scientist from Indian Maharashtra state.The accused, identified as Tahir Ahmad Bukhari, a resident of Waskura Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district has not only extorted money from the people but has also  abandoned couple of women after marrying them.Police sources said that the imposter was arrested from Maharashtra after a local from Handwara Manzoor Ahmed filed a complaint alleging that a person with a pseudonym Syed Ishan Bukhari extorted money from him after introducing himself as an Army Doctor posted in India’s Odhisa state.The complainant Manzoor Ahmed had told the police that he came in touch with the accused on facebook who always used to invoke Islam during chatting. The accused promised jobs to unemployed youths and for that purpose he deposited over Rs one lakh in his account. After receiving money, the accused disappeared and never came online.

Sources told news agency CNS that on the directions of SP Handwara Mr Ghulam Jeelani, a special team was constituted who rushed to Maharashtra and nabbed the culprit with the help of Maharahtra Police. According the accused was brought to Valley.During the course of investigation, the police found that accused married five women, 4 of them from outside states. After marriage, the accused used to loot money from the women. Police investigation revealed that that Bukhari was also in touch with six more girls from different Indian states.Bukhari, who possesses two Adhaar cards from two different Indian states including Odhisa had managed to obtain a forged Neuro Surgery MBBS certificates from popular colleges of Canada, Egypt and London.Investigation has revealed that by showing these fake certificates he had managed to get  jobs at famous hospitals of India.

During police investigation it came to fore that accused has read up to only class 12th and he was pretending to be a qualified one by virtue of  the fake certificates he had managed to obtain from different sources.Saira Bano, one of the wives of the accused of Rajhstan, whom he cheated told CNS over phone that Bukhari not only grabbed money from her but also from her another wife in UP. “I myself talked to Jammu Kashmir Police officer investigating the case. He has assured me that accused will face music for his crimes,” Saira Bano said and requested to mention her name openly in the news report.She said that her family is in touch with Jammu Kashmir Police.    According to police investigation, the accused has five wives and he has cheated them all. He has married in Kashmir, Odhisa, UP and Maharashtra.“The accused used to contact girls through matrimonial sites.”   When contacted a top police officer said that they will organize a press conference regarding the case.
