Punjab BJP today lauded Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for heeding to its appeal and filing a sedition case against New York-based organisation Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and its activists for putting up a series of provocative referendum posters and hoardings across the state. State party vice-president Harjit Singh Grewal and state party secretary Vineet Joshi stated that the BJP has always strived for peace and tranquility in Punjab and has always supported the Punjab government against the anti-national forces. The BJP leaders said, “Punjabis settled abroad are peace loving people and are proud to be Indians. They have no concern with organizations like Sikh for Justice. SFJ does not have any mass appeal in the US or Canada.  These are just a handful of people who are trying to play politics over religion and fill their pockets”. “Pakistan is trying to disrupt peace in India and the ISI is backing such anti-national forces to fulfill its purpose.  The bond, affection and brotherhood between Punjabis is strong, time-tested and proven over and over again. Punjabis will thwart any such attempts to derail peace in Punjab in the future too”, the BJP leaders said.Grewal and Joshi requested the Punjab government to immediately initiate legal process to bring SFJ legal adviser Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and SFJ activists Jagdeep Singh and Jagjeet Singh to Punjab from the US. They also sought the arrest of the fifth accused in the case at the earliest.
